Hagelslag is a traditional Dutch breakfast, reminiscent of a chocolate sprinkled donut. Simply put, Hagelslag is buttered bread topped with chocolate sprinkles. It's the perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth, but with less sugar and calories.

Ingredients

  • 1 piece of bread, toasted
  • 1/2 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of hagelslag (chocolate variety)

Instructions

  1. Toast one piece of bread until lightly browned.
  2. Spread the piece of toasted bread with butter.
  3. Sprinkle about a tablespoon of chocolate hagelslag.
  4. Enjoy with a glass of milk!

Notes

  1. Any variety of hagelslag can be used in this recipe.
