These fried beef wontons are made with a tasty mixture of ground beef, spices, and fresh veggies all wrapped up together in a wonton wrapper that's fried until golden brown and crispy. Dip them in sweet and sour sauce for a tasty snack or appetizer!
Over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned in a large frying pan.
Place the celery, onion, green pepper, ginger, soy sauce, and oregano in a blender or food processor. Pulse several times until the mixture is finely chopped.
Add the chopped veggie mixture to the frying pan with the ground beef.
Heat oil to 350F (176.6 C) in a large pot.
Fill a small bowl of water and place on your work surface.
Lay a wonton wrapper on the surface. Place ½ tablespoon of filling into the middle of the wrapper. Moisten your fingertips with the water from the bowl, and gently moisten the edges of the wrapper.
Grab one corner of the wrapper and fold it in half to make a triangle. Press the edges down to create a nice seal to prevent the filling from leaking out.
With the tip of the "triangle" facing away from you, grab the remaining two corners and fold them into the middle, one corner over the other (refer to photos in the blog post.)
Continue these steps until all of the wontons are wrapped.
Place wrapped wontons into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. I usually stick with 7-8 wontons at a time.
Fry the wontons for 2 minutes on each side, using tongs to flip the wontons, until golden brown and crispy. Transfer the wontons to a cooling rack and finish frying the rest.
Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce, or sauce of choice.

Storage Information
Refrigerate leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days in an airtight container.
Freeze for a longer period of time by placing wontons on a single layer on a baking sheet and freeze until solid. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container and store for 1-2 months.
Reheat in the oven, air fryer or pan fry.
Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the frozen or refrigerated wontons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8-10 minutes.
Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Place the frozen or refrigerated wontons in a single layer in the air fryer basket and air fry for 5-7 minutes.
Pan Fry: Heat a small amount of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the frozen or refrigerated wontons in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.
