Combine the water, granulated sugar, brown sugar, jalapenos, ginger, and salt in a medium saucepan. Warm over medium heat, stirring until the sugars dissolve and the mixture starts to gently simmer.
¼ cup water, ½ cup granulated sugar, ¼ cup brown sugar, 1 jalapeno, ½ teaspoon freshly grated ginger, ½ teaspoon salt
Add the cranberries and bring the mixture to a light boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the berries burst and the sauce thickens.
