Seal the lid, making sure the vent is closed. Press the pressure cook button and set the timer to 40 minutes. Once the time beeps, allow the pressure to naturally release for 20 minutes. Quick release any remaining pressure.
Strain the beans over a bowl, saving the liquid.
Return the strained beans back to the Instant Pot. Use an immersion blender to blend the beans to the desired consistency, add liquid back if the beans are too thick.
Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
