Jacob and I found out this last week that we are going to be welcoming a baby GIRL to our family this August. We are so excited! It's hard to believe that we both thought for sure we'd be having a boy. Isn't it funny how life never turns out as you expect? Whatever the case, I'm just super excited to have a cute mini-me to dress up in all the bows and dresses. Life is good.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I have decided to share another mint chocolate dessert with you! There's just something about mint chocolate desserts that feels so festive around this time of year. Plus, I love having an excuse to make desserts with that refreshing flavor combination.

This past year, Jacob and I tried Black Tap for the first time. We actually wanted to try it when we went to New York City back in 2016, but we simply ran out of time. So it was pretty cool when we discovered that there's actually a Black Tap only two hours away from us in Las Vegas! Who knew?! These crazy shakes seem to be all the rage nowadays. And I can certainly see why. I mean, who wouldn't want to enjoy a shake bursting with all kinds of crazy toppings (like a piece of cake!)? Talk about a sugar rush indeed!

For today's crazy shake recipe, I decided to recreate a Black Tap limited time only shake: the Mint Oreo Cookie Chocolate Chip Shake. I think they only served this one for three days a few years ago, which is kind of a shame.

This mint chocolate chip shake is created with a vanilla frosting rim and crushed mint Oreo cookies and then topped with an Oreo ice cream bar (I subbed an ice cream sandwich), whipped cream, chocolate chips, and a chocolate drizzle. It's a sugar coma waiting to happen, so you'll want to share this with a friend or two!

If you're really looking to get festive for St. Patty's Day, then this is the way to do it (along with a traditional Irish Breakfast). Plus, what better way to "wow" all of your friends and family than with a crazy creation like this!

FAQs

How can I make the shake thicker?

Use less milk or add more ice cream to achieve a thicker consistency. You can also blend in a few ice cubes.

What’s the best way to crush the Oreos?

Place them in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin, or pulse them in a food processor for finer crumbs.
