Eating in Nashville: Jack's Bar-B-Que

If you are a fan of live country music and delicious BBQ, Nashville is one of those places that you just need to visit! Downtown Nashville is so lively with talented musicians playing in the local bars, and the smell of barbecued ribs and chicken wafting through the street. The cacophony of music heard from the street is not like anything you would hear anywhere else in the world. All the bars have open store fronts that echo of the sounds of young artists seeking to make it big in the music industry. You can stand in the center of Nashville Broadway and hear up to 20 different live bands in less than a mile. Going back to barbecue... Jack's Bar-B-Que is a favorite among locals and tourists (and even celebrities) alike and serves up some authentic, mouth-watering ribs and brisket - a must try when in Nashville. On any given night, a line can be seen stretching down the street from the restaurant. It is THAT GOOD and well worth the wait!

If you are patient enough to wait in line for some grub at the famous restaurant, you will be served up the best barbecue you have ever had! Newspaper clippings and framed photos of celebrities can even be see hung on a wall, including endorsements from Dolly Parton and Larry the Cable Guy (now are you interested in trying this place?). I'll admit, the menu at this restaurant is nothing different from any other barbecue joint (it is still really good though!), BUT the thing that sets Jack's Bar-B-Que apart from the rest, believe it or not, is their original barbecue sauce. Drench your ribs and brisket in this sweet, tangy sauce and your tastebuds will be doing summersaults (Jacob and I even ordered a bottle of their sauce from their website, because we wanted to bring the taste of authentic Nashville barbecue home).

The prices of Jack's Bar-B-Que range anywhere from $4.99 for a sandwich to $25.99 for a family meal, which is a pretty decent deal! The menu is simply made up of sandwiches, ribs, turkey, chicken, brisket, sausage (and more) and several side dishes including mac and cheese, baked beans and cole slaw. If you are a barbecue fan, you are sure to find something that you'll enjoy at Jack's Bar-B-Que! My Jack's Bar-B-Que experience was made up of a combo plate, which included 3 different types of meats (I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted to try, so I decided why not try 3?). After ordering your food, I recommend going upstairs to cozy up on the balcony to enjoy your food, the warm summer air, fireflies dancing around your head and live music playing from the bars. If you're a lucky girl like I was, you'll have a Rascal Flats type group of men coyly ask "would you like to join us pretty little lady?", while your significant other is filling up on BBQ sauce back inside. Jacob is lucky he came back at that time, I was just about ready to run away with those dreamy cowboys.

Authentic Tennessee barbecue is one of those things that you do not want to miss out on when you are in Nashville. Jack's Bar-B-Que is a great place to enjoy some grub!
