I used to be quite skeptical of roasted garlic because I figured it was just as strong and punch as fresh garlic is. Boy, was I wrong! Roasting the garlic transforms those sharp cloves into something quite the opposite: garlic that's soft, mellow and buttery. I love using it in pasta or spreading it on steak, there are so many different uses for it!

Need another idea for using your roasted garlic? It would be a delicious addition in my Garlic Hummus Recipe!

❤️Why You'll Love This Recipe

  • Mellow and Buttery - Roasted garlic is exactly the opposite of it's raw counterpart! Roasting takes away the harsh bite of raw garlic and turns it into something sweet and rich, you could even eat roasted garlic cloves on their own if you want to!
  • So Easy to Make - Just add a drizzle of olive oil, wrap it in foil, and throw it in the air fryer. You'll have roasted garlic ready to be enjoyed in no time (and without hardly any effort!)
  • Endless Uses - Stir it in mashed potatoes, use it in homemade pizza, add it to soup, spread it on corn on the cob. Get creative, the options are endless here!

🛒Ingredients

Ingredients laid out for roasted garlic recipe.
  • Garlic: Use the whole head of garlic, rather than the individual cloves. The heads will roast more evenly and give you those soft, golden cloves that spread just like butter!
  • Olive Oil: A light drizzle helps the garlic caramelize and prevents it from drying out in the air fryer.

🌟Expert Tips

  • Don't skip the oil. A light drizzle helps the cloves roast evenly and caramelize without them burning.
  • Roast extra. Roasted garlic stores well and it's an easy way to add instant flavor to meals throughout the week. You can store heads of roasted garlic in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze individual cloves for up to 3 months.

💭 FAQs

How do I know when the roasted garlic is done?

The cloves should be soft, golden, and easily squeezed out of their skins. If they're still firm, add a few more minutes of cook time.
